The past few days have been really hot, making even short rides tough, let alone longer ones. Luckily, today’s forecast called for cooler weather, so I saw a good chance to get out and see how my legs would hold up. With the London to Southend Bike Ride only three weeks away, it seemed a … Continue reading The Fastest 50 Miles of My Year, All Into a Headwind
A Hot Ride, a Cool Finish
As it was pretty hot today, I decided to keep my ride short. The temperature hit about 27°C (81°F). I really appreciated the sea breeze during the second half of my ride and was glad I decided to finish off with a ride along the seafront.
A Summer Solstice Ride to Leigh and Barling

My bike had recently developed an annoying creak from the bottom bracket area. The local bike shop … Continue reading Ride out to Owl Hill team rooms
Ride home from the bike shop
I took my Domane in for its yearly service and was expecting a large bill, as I thought the bottom bracket had gone. Luckily, the annoying creak coming from that area turned out to be loose crank-arm bolts. That was an easy fix and covered by the cost of the service. The bike did need … Continue reading Ride home from the bike shop
